I’m Lautaro
and I am a Chilean PADI freediving instructor based in Sydney. With over 15 years of freediving experience, I have had the privilege of teaching individuals of all ages, including children and those with disabilities. Prior to my finding my passion as a freediving instructor, I worked as a commercial diver in underwater construction, salmon farming, and search and rescue operations—fields that demand the highest standards of safety. This background has instilled in me a strong commitment to safety, which I consistently emphasize to my students during courses, training and fun dives all around Sydney and regional NSW.
In addition to freediving, I am an enthusiastic ocean swimmer, amateur yogi, jazz enthusiast, dendrophile and an occasional player of underwater hockey and rugby with UNSW.
Environmental conservation is a core value of mine. I volunteer as an underwater rescuer for ORRCA and ASTR (Australian Seabird and Turtle Rescue), where I work to give back to the ocean by rescuing a variety of marine life, including turtles, sharks, snakes, pelicans, swans, and more.
Freediving is more than just a sport; it's a way to connect with the ocean and discover the depths of our own potential.
I am deeply committed to creating positive change through various causes,
These initiatives highlight the importance of protecting our mother ocean.
